About Lusaka Fringe Festival

A new multi-disciplinary arts festival launching in Lusaka, Zambia, providing an inclusive platform for African artists to present bold, innovative work and engage diverse audiences.

Our History

Lusaka Fringe Festival is a newly established multi-disciplinary arts festival launching this year in Lusaka, Zambia. The festival is designed to provide an inclusive and professionally managed platform for African artists to present bold, innovative work while engaging diverse local and international audiences.

Positioned at the intersection of artistic expression and community development, Lusaka Fringe brings together theatre, dance, music, film, spoken word, and visual arts. The festival prioritises accessibility, artistic experimentation, and cross-cultural exchange, with a strong emphasis on emerging voices and underrepresented perspectives.

As a new initiative, Lusaka Fringe is intentionally structured to be lean, adaptable, and impact-driven. The festival aims to contribute to the growth of Zambia's creative economy by supporting artists, developing audiences, creating employment opportunities, and fostering international collaboration. Through strategic partnerships and responsible stewardship of resources, Lusaka Fringe Festival seeks to establish itself as a sustainable cultural platform that strengthens artistic practice, builds regional networks, and positions Lusaka as a growing hub for contemporary African arts.
